The Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute functions as both a general medical dermatology practice and a specialised referral centre for patients requiring Mohs Micrographic Surgery and advanced skin cancer care.

We provide a truly multidisciplinary approach, collaborating closely with a team of highly skilled specialists – including reconstructive surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons, head and neck surgeons, anaesthetists and oncologists. This integrated model ensures patients receive evidence-based, guideline-aligned treatment consistent with the standards of leading international skin cancer centres.

We are proud to offer the only dedicated Day Hospital Mohs Surgery unit in the Western Cape, designed to optimise patient safety, comfort, and surgical outcomes.

Dr Johann de Wet focuses exclusively on skin cancer management and consults solely with patients referred by their dermatologist or general practitioner with a confirmed diagnosis.

Dr Rhodiné Smith provides comprehensive medical and surgical dermatology services, caring for patients across the full spectrum of skin conditions and ages. She consults from our Stellenbosch and Somerset West practices.

Dr Héloïse Daffue provides comprehensive medical and surgical dermatology care, with particular interests in skin cancer prevention, paediatric dermatology and the management of inflammatory skin conditions. She consults from our Stellenbosch practice.
