Dr Héloïse Daffue is a specialist dermatologist with a particular interest in medical dermatology, skin cancer prevention and surveillance, paediatric dermatology, hair disorders and inflammatory skin disease. She is passionate about providing evidence-based, individualised care and believes in taking the time to understand each patient and their skin concerns in the context of their overall health and wellbeing.
Dr Daffue obtained her medical degree from Stellenbosch University in 2013. Following her internship and community service, she gained broad clinical experience working as a medical officer in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases in Johannesburg. During this period, she also furthered her training in clinical dermatology, obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology at the University of South Wales.
Her interest in academic medicine and evidence-based patient care also led her to work in clinical research at the Wits Health Consortium before pursuing specialist training in Dermatology.
In 2022, Dr Daffue commenced her specialist dermatology training at the University of the Free State. She completed her specialist training in 2026, obtaining both her Fellowship of the College of Dermatologists of South Africa and her Master of Medicine degree in Dermatology cum laude.
Her approach to dermatology is thorough, evidence-based and patient-centred. She believes that an in-depth consultation is fundamental to understanding both the skin condition and the individual behind it, allowing treatment plans to be tailored to each patient’s needs. Where appropriate, she combines medical treatment with minor surgical procedures, enabling patients to receive comprehensive medical and surgical dermatological care.
Above all, Dr Daffue values the long-term relationships that develop between dermatologist and patient and strives to provide care that is compassionate, considered and grounded in the best available medical evidence.
